Early Morning Heather
7.20am, just about to set off on the (horrible!) journey into work and the moon was still up and pretty dark. I tried to photograph the moon but as that did not come out at all well, I noticed the heather on the front bed by the path alongside our front garden was out in flower, so chose that instead. I should know what variety this one is, but it is an old plant and has been there a long time. It gets a regular yearly haircut and it flowers well each time. It gives welcome colour in the garden at a time when there is little else out in flower and it looks quite impressive in the darkness lit by the camera flash.
