My Gaelic is improving.

This is a rather impressive plaque on the wall of the departure lounge at Stornaway airport.

It is by the late poet Murchadh Macpharlain and translated means;

O going home, going home, I like saying it,
For it is music to my ears,
Like no other sound.
Is there a heart so hard that wouldn't be moved instantly,
By the sweetness of that sound,
Home to my mother.

Impressed or what?

Sorry there are not scenes from the island but I was there for less that 24 hours and what I saw was marred by the weather. Never mind. An excuse for another visit.
