City of Arts and Science
Rather proud of the fact that my iPhone managed to take this photo.
Day 2 of Valencia/Alicante trip. Didn't start too well. There were no plug sockets by the bed so we had our phones charging on the desk at the other side of the room. Decided to use the iPad as an alarm. Big mistake... The alarm was silent! Woke up when I heard housekeeping hoovering down the corridor... It was 09.44! Leapt out of bed and we rushed to have breakfast. Eventually got out of the hotel at 11am, not quite the start we were hoping for.
It was a beautiful sunny day, about 17 degrees with blazing sunshine. Perfect weather.
Went to the Mercado Central. Amazing market, so jealous that we don't have markets like that back home.
Then we headed to the City of Arts and Science, a futuristic set of buildings consisting of the Hemisferic (IMAX screen in the picture), Oceanografic (one of the largest aquariums in the world), the Palace of the Arts and the Science Museum. Spent most of the rest of the day there except for a wee trip to the beach to have genuine Valencian paella.
