At home: All snuggled up.....

I wonder how this small creature evaded the split of the axe. It has, at some point in the autumn chose a plum tree to burrow into. Neatly pulling in a fresh leaf and cutting a clever leaf lid for its rolled home.

The Plum tree, decayed and diseased was felled along with the rest of the orchard. It is always sad to felled trees, as it is to see any thing that has died. The best and next process is that this doesnt go to waste. The felled trees went into logs for heating. Every process has another benefit, just as this caterpillar has made use of a weakened and tree for its own cause.

This log nearly ended up in the burner. I will be interested to see what emerges from the rolled leafy home!
