Out with the old in with the new
We finally buckled and off the back of my new job and the wife no longer contributing to my car payment we got our mazda cx-5. A remarkably good deal buying at one of the best times of the year as dealers try and make year end goals. The wife haggled down the payment even more and even an additional 60 cents/month was knocked off the payment as the young sales guy only mentioned whole dollar amounts. The general sales manager was not impressed but had to give us the price we wanted as we were about to sign on the dotted line.
The ford escape was the wife's college car of 8 years/93k miles. Bought from new for a huge sum of money for a student and paid off only within the last few years. But it was a gas guzzler (16mpg at best) 3 litre v6 4x4 monster. Our sky active efficient beast is now 4 cylinder 2.5 litre fwd with over 30 mpg on the highway. Comes with all the mod cons too! We are very happy with it. Even got a loyalty discount as we already own new mazda (my car) and a discount from changing to a different brand for this one (from
Ford).
Ever busy in the lab. One last big experiment finished off today. Don't know if it will have worked or not.
Then still filling in more forms for the new job. Have to have drugs test tomorrow. No eating or drinking anything other than water for 4 hrs before it. Or alcohol 24hrs before (as I sat drinking a beer reading the guidelines tonight....)
