Leaving Moab, Utah
The forecast was pretty dire and so we decided against going for another sunrise shot as we needed to start back on the 6 hour journey to Vegas within a weather window. Frustratingly, as we climbed into the frozen car in Moab where we had been staying, the sky turned into a molten mass of foamy clouds which lasted for approximately five minutes and would have looked even more impressive against the backdrop of the canyons. However it was not to be and in fact the sun never really made a proper appearance as the weather front quickly took over.
Unlike the day we travelled here we never had the roof down for the entire journey and it was a long, long time before we even saw a glimpse of sunshine. Mostly we were driving through freezing fog which occasionally lifted enough for us to catch tantalising glimpses of the rocky structures which had so entertained us on the journey on Tuesday. Moments later and we were driving through thick fog again.
Thank you all so, so much for your comments, stars and hearts for my blip of the Mesa Arch sunrise yesterday which sent it eventually to the top of the Spotlight page. I was overwhelmed by your response and so delighted that I was able to share some of the magic and that you all appreciated it so much - perhaps some of you might even put this region on your bucket list for a visit some day. You will not be disappointed. Furthermore I was delighted to have had the blip chosen as a Staff Pick - my very first ever - and so a big thank to the staff at Blipcentral.
