Our Journey is a process

Cheers!

Another very crazy day!

First we received an emergency phone call from my daughter. She has a major problem with her plane ticket, and may have to buy another. . . from Shanghai to LAX . . . at Christmas. What a mess! I should know in another few hours if she was able to get it all resolved and is on the plane.

Then, we received a visit from a detective. He was investigating a cell phone involved with a crime. The cell phone was registered to us. It was an old cell phone that we had several years ago which, we believed, was terminated. It's a very long story and someday, after it is all over, I can tell you about it. But let me say that all of those TV shows that we watch may be more true that we think.

The day ended in an amazing way. We had a meeting in the south part of town near a photo store that I like to window shop at. I wanted to buy a few small things for my daughter and I wanted to check on the price of a lens that I was thinking about. As I was talking with one of the sales guys, he laughing mentioned to my husband that he had the perfect camera for me (even though I am quite satisfied with my D7100). The sales guy said that he had just taken this D600 and assorted lens in trade today (the person trading bought a Hasselblad). My husband asked to see it. So, the sales guy brings out the whole kit. Apparently the owner bought the camera, a 24-70mm lens and a speedlite "earlier this year". But he really had his heart set on a Hasselblad. So his wife told him if he traded his D600, she would buy him the Hasselblad for Christmas. I gave it a try thinking that this would probably be the only time I ever had a full-frame camera in my hands. Well, to keep this story short, fifteen minutes later, my husband is walking out the store "with my Christmas present". Yes, he bought it - the camera body, the lens and flash. And he got it for an amazingly low price with an extended warranty. The funny thing is when we got home, the original sales receipt was buried in the bottom of the box. The original owner bought the camera body and the lens from a "major online camera store" 4 months ago!!! Guess I will have to put it away and let him wrap it for Christmas now.

So, this is a shot taken in a big hurry to get it uploaded before midnight.

Hope you all have a great weekend.
