Soggy Rooftops Of Horsham

Mum and I braved the wet for a short look around Horsham shops. We had a very small amount of things to get and at least it was a trip outside the front door! It was surprisingly less busy than expected for a Saturday before Christmas - likely due to the awful weather. This view is taken from the second floor level of Swan Walk Car Park with the back of the United Reformed Church. This was rebuilt in 1981 and beyond it is the Catholic Church and it's hall on the left. The far building on the right in red brick is Springfield House. In my office working days I used to have to go in there to maintain office microfilm equipment. The rather haphazard roofline beyond are flats built on the site of King & Barnes Brewery. Sadly taken over by Hall & Woodhouse, this once proud and historic brewery was closed and demolished. Fortunately for beer lovers, Horsham once more has independent brewers operating from the town and helping to keep the long history of brewing in the town alive today.
