Easter Bavelaw across from Threipmuir Reservoir

A successful walk this morning from Balerno around Threipmuir and Harlaw Reservoirs. A cold and blustery day with sleet in the air and not condusive to good photography. We've walked this route and I've run the route many times in all seasons and all weathers and it remains one of the walks we like around here.

A few years ago, just before New Year, we completed this walk in falling snow which contributed to a magical experience - one of the day of days that I've talked about over this year of blipping.

Back to finish breakfast and then out into the city so that the ladies could go to the Usher Hall for a Christmas concert while we gents had a beer or two or more at the Alexander Bell on George Street.

Had I been in a position to do a shot of Edinburgh Castle lit up by the setting sun with dark clouds above, that would have been my blip for the day. But I was driving at the time and I didn't quite have time at a junction to get the iPhone out and take the shot. By the time we'd parked the car the sun had set and the shot had gone. So we had to make do with the beer instead. The ladies, of course, drove home.

Back in Balerno it was sleeting when we arrived home and at the moment the wind is gusting around the house. A prelude for the next few days?
