"Good" or "Special"

Today I had that blipper's dilemma. Do I post the 'beautiful" photograph, nice enough moment, or do I post the one that's special but a bit more average snap shot. Special won.

A lovely day today! We had been trying to find a nice day out as a family, several possibilities examined. Except it turned out lots of things finished yesterday. I had a late thought last night and we came up with the Yorkshire Farming Museum at Murton Park. They have a Santa Special every year and I've heard how wonderful it is. So we set off and bundled up on arrival. We had a fabulous time!! We arrived just as the next tour of the elves' village was about to set off. They were brilliant with the children, the guide especially. On the way to the village we met seven rare breed reindeers, who had an uncanny resemblance to sheep! About 20 different actors were involved in bringing the elves' village to life. The elves had an entertaining fashion show (complete with "Gok Elf"). The sorting office for parcels was in full swing, and they checked with Katie where to send her presents. The toy workshops had finished their making. Santa's uniform was drying on his washing line, Mrs Claus talking to the children in the log-fire-lit lounge beside his naughty/nice list on his desk. It was lovely. She got a Santa certificate before we headed up to the Derwent Valley Light Railway, where we boarded a little steam train. On the train, Santa had a named present for each child. To katie's delight and slight bewilderment. It was a gorgeous little present too, a lovely soft toy dog. After the train ride, Katie went to Santa for a photo. This photo. For the first ever time she'd done so. Which is why I blipped it. We went then into one of the barns and she did a lovely colouring picture while Mummy & the granparents enjoyed sherry and mince pies before she played old fashioned skittles for a lollipop.

We headed to the designer outlet and went straight for lunch. She had fish and chips. The chips barely got touched. The fish however barely touched the sides it went that quickly! We had a little look round some of the shops, just her and I. We went out to the winter wonderland and got fresh doughtnuts before we met back up with granny and grandad and had a starbucks. We left late afternoon and she made it nearly to home before she fell asleep. She woke but not completely. A bit of tea, a snuggle & play before bed. A fabulous festive day!!
