Annual piano concert
4years 62days
We have a Christmas tradition now - that we make a trip to Vic and John, much loved fellow blippers, on the way to our Christmas destinations. This year was no exception. Every year, Katie and Jaden play the piano. This year was no exception. They have such a wonderful time together. The grown ups have a wonderful time together, the food is good. We reciprocate at New Year. A real something special that has come of our blip-initiated friendships. Hard to believe this is our third Christmas together. How fast time has gone since the first time we did it.
Going to their house came after a fabulous swim for Katie with me this morning. She did her swimming in the learner pool - she's working hard on her breathing for her front crawl and really made a difference today. We then went into the big pool, sooner than we did last week. She did some jumping in, she did 25m on her front and then had a go on her back, another 25m. She wouldnt go on her back last week. She still wont put her face into the big pool when swimming as she's convinced its water is yucky compared to the little pool. So we did some dunking, to show her both that it was in fact ok and that she can on the bottom and swim herself up. She was proud of herself when she realised both and we have said next week that we are going to swim in the big pool from the start. We'll go to the learner pool to play with the floats and things, but bit by bit she's getting to grips with the big pool!
We finished our Christmas getting ready, as much as we could before leaving anyway, before Victoria arrived to pick us up. After our wonderful time together, they gave us a lift to Scarborough where we spent an evening with my parents before a lovely bit of time with Uncle Simon before she fell asleep very quickly when she snuggled in "Katie's little grandad's house bed" in a new Winnie the Pooh duvet cover.
