After the snow comes the rain

It rained today. Excuse me it frozen rained today. It felt like little pebbles as it hit the skin. Central Maine Power is on standby ready to deal with power emergencies.
I hate ice storms. They encase the car. They drive people into the road to walk because they can't walk on the sidewalk. It got up to about 34 degrees today so the ice started to melt. Then it froze again. There are icicles on everything.
The concern is that the ice weighs the branches on the trees down and they break. Then they fall on the wires. In 1998 there were people without power for a week . I lived in a condo where all the power lines were underground. We were spared.
My Dad's house has wires all over the place. We live on a corner. If something falls on them it will suck big time.
So far we have escaped what the news called the biggest ice storm since 1998.

After the snow comes the rain. I started writing a song with that tag line today. I can't wait to sit down tomorrow and finish it.

Stay warm and dry friends. Well unless you are in Australia. Then turn on the air conditioner and wait for Santa in his shorts and sandals. For some reason I am blown away by that.
