Finland is getting its own top university, Aalto University. Hip-hip... hooray, Helsinki!

The university is officially launched at the turn of the year. It borrows its name in honour of one of the most recognised Finnish architects, Alvar Aalto.

It is said to be a unique institution because it is 'created through a merger between The Helsinki School of Economics, The University of Art and Design in Helsinki and The Helsinki University of Technology.' (excerpt from the home page info)


Last week the university's visual image, the logo to represent the conglomeration and communion of arts and sciences, was revealed.
