The ice slide
We recently discovered that you can travel by train to anywhere in Belgium for 5 euros during the Christmas holidays so we decided to take our annual Christmas trip to Bruges by train. It was so much more relaxing especially as the weather was awful today so it was nice not to have to drive in the rain and wind.
The theme for the ice show this year was the Disney film Frozen, which is one of the reasons why we took the kids to the cinema yesterday so that we would recognise the characters. The first character the kids spotted was Olaf the snowman which was great but when they found the ice slide there was no stopping them! We had a walk around the Christmas markets afterwards before visiting an exhibition on Christmas in the Middle Ages which was interesting.

This evening the kids have received their video emails from Santa and the good news is that they both made it onto the 'nice' list, which they were super excited about.
A mince pie, various homemade biscuits, a carrot, milk and a duvel have been left out for our visitors.
Stockings have been laid out.
Magic dust has been sprinkled.
Olivia read 'The night before Christmas' to us at bedtime which was beautiful.
Merry Christmas everyone, x
