Christmas Eve in Russell Books

This is the main floor in Russell Books. There's another floor above, and an Annex for overflow in a basement down the road. They buy and sell used books. They also dabble in new books. But they're known for their used and rare books. If you measured the collection in cubic feet you'd come up with a rather impressive number.

When you take your books in they will give you either cash or a card with credits. Credits give you a bigger bang than cash.

Today I bought a bird book called "Birds of British Columbia". There are pages of gulls!

Anyway, this is the main floor between Psychology and Science, and although you can't see the sign, that's the Harry Potter section on the end of the Science shelves. Right where you'd expect to find Harry Potter.

They've got some marvelous books behind the counter. They'll let you look at them if your hands are clean.

It's Christmas everywhere but Vancouver Island. My cousin in Australia has already had her Christmas dinner and I'm just off to bed on Christmas Eve!
