Christmas Day..
..at Croft 16.
Just the two of us, and I think we overdid it on the veg. I used to be vegetarian, and so Christmas without meat was nothing out of the ordinary. I started eating meat again, but for some reason we carried on the tradition.
Today we got up, and sort the animals out. Checked for damage after last nights storm (thunder, lightening, 22 mm rain, and very strong winds). A, next door, has lost a couple of tiles from his roof. Lit the fire, skyped the Cath, G's mum, and A, our son, and then phoned D&L, G's brother and his wife, and finally my mum.
We got to open our presents sometime after 11. Then took Tanni for a walk down the croft, and along the beach, and then got soaked in more rain. Back home and Christmas dinner on the table soon after 4.
We had roast potatoes, and parsnips, carrots, brussels, kale, peas, brosolli, a small romanescu cauliflower, and sweet potato mash. Topped with gravy made with the kale water, home made yorkshires, and stuffing balls. All was homegrown except the peas and sweet potato. And all topped off with a bottle of champagne (won in the raffle at the Elphin music festival).. Crackers were homemade, and we had a good time..
Now settled down to catch up with the Downton Abbey DVD..
Camera was mounted on my new tripod (which I knew nothing about Croftcrafts!), and triggered with a manual remote (that's why my arm is reaching out of shot!!)..
Hope you all had as good a day..
