A Contemplating Chickadee
I was laying in bed watching Sportscenter when I heard my sidewalk being shoveled. It was my neighbor and her young son. What a nice thing to do. I put on some warm clothes, and went out to finish my driveway. It looked like we got 4-5 inches of snow.
I shoveled mine, but then got my snow-blower out...to pay it forward. I did 3 neighbors driveways and sidewalks before putting it away.
Since I was nice and warm by then, I stood in my back yard...just thinking. Thinking about my tree branches that were down...things I needed to do...about building a snowman...lots of things.
A small tweet over my head brought me out of the trance. A little bird flitting about. Judging by this picture...she was thinking, too.
I asked her why the birds weren't coming to my new feeder. No answer. I asked her why she was so brave...while the other birds wouldn't approach me. No answer. I asked her how she could be off the scale on the cuteness charts. Again...no answer.
Since my shoes were covered with snow...I eventually had to go in. Thinking over. No thinking for the rest of the day.
