Crow wars

For the last week or more there have been noisy disputes going on outside our building amongst several crows; there may be two pairs vying for possession of the local chimney pot vantage points and the right to harrass the magpies. I haven't seen any actual fighting, but there has been much chasing and loud carking. Today was the first time I'd seen one of them apparently take possession of the nest in the birch tree.

Having checked an old blip I realise that they've re-positioned the nest lower down the tree - very sensible considering the number of times the previous one blew down.
