Eva's very first Christmas Day xxxxxxxxx

Iiiiiiiiiiiiits Eva's very first Christmassssss :-) :-) :-)

Such an exciting day!!!!!!

Eva and I didn't wake up til nearly 9 o clock, I couldn't believe it when I saw the time. I'd put Eva in a lovely new Christmassy babygrow for bed last night and planned on just changing her nappy and staying in pyjamas to come downstairs, but on picking Eva up, it was clear that she needed completely changing. Luckily the pyjamas came in a set of 3, so I changed her nappy and picked out the red and white stripey babygrow and off we went downstairs to see if Santa had been....

.....He had!!! There was a huge mountain of presents piled under the tree. Yippeeeee!

We were still opening presents after midday. Everyone had been so thoughtful, and Eva had so so many lovely things. She loved helping us open her presents and enjoyed putting big sheets of paper onto her head and over her face and biting bits of paper off and trying to eat it. I wish I could show every photograph on here, but I had to choose just one.

Eva has started pointing loads lately, everything she sees, she points at it with her lovely tiny fingers. It's so cute. She'll see a favourite tv character and point at it grinning, she'll see a teddy on top of her wardrobe and point at it going "ha tat, ha tat" she'll see a decoration on the tree and point at it too. We had lots of lovely pointing and "ha tat"s today. Just magical.

We had some visitors around midday. First my brother, John, who'd brought Eva lots of lovely clothes for Christmas and some Pingu DVDs, followed by my other 2 brothers David and Christopher. David bought her a lovely book with a singalong cd and Christopher bought her a £50 voucher to build her own teddy bear at the Bear Factory, such wonderful presents from her uncles. My sister and Lorna came round too to see Eva on Christmas Day. My Dad then arrived for Christmas dinner and the rest of the day, not long after Eva had got up from her sleep at around 2.30. It was so fantastic having different family members popping in to see Eva throughout the day, Eva was so happy, and it was her opportunity to hand out the presents she'd made for everyone back in November. Everybody got a different piece of pottery with her little hand and footprint printed on it, which was then glazed and fired with 'Eva 2013' also written on. Gorgeous little keepsakes that will hopefully be treasured forever to mark her very first Christmas.

We had dinner at 3.15 and it was delicious if I do say so myself. We had the works, and Eva had her own little dinner laid out on her highchair tray, turkey, gammon, carrots, sprouts, roast potato, parsnip and broccoli. She was a bit grizzly though by the time dinner was ready and didn't eat much. She hasn't eaten much the last few days to be fair. Her temperature was a little high again, so I gave her some calpol and it did seem to help a little and she cheered up a little after a short time. Dratted teeth hurting my baby girl on Christmas Day.

We all just chilled in the afternoon after Jake had been collected to go to his moms. Mike baked some bread in his new bread maker I'd got him for Christmas, and we watched telly, played with Eva and her toys and just chatted and relaxed. I loved my dad being here too, sharing Eva's special day with us.

I tried Eva with some dinner again a bit later, but she still didn't want anything. At around 7pm I took her up for her bath and to get her ready for bed. She had a lovely big milk feed from Mommy and with a smile on her face and some excited kicks in her bed, she was tucked in and fast asleep by just before 8pm.

I went off round my sisters then with my dad, leaving Mike home, to go and exchange yet more presents, and see my mom, Peter, Grandad and Laura for the first time today aswell as obviously Liza, Lorna, John, David and Christopher. I only stayed an hour as wanted to get back to Mike and have our turkey sandwiches on bread from his bread maker. We curled up on the sofa with our supper, our baby girl fast asleep in bed after having a wonderful first Christmas Day, and watched 'Oz, the Great and Powerful' together, before hitting the sack around midnight, giving Eva a top up feed, and falling straight to sleep all happy and content.

What a magical day. Loved every second, roll on next Christmas xxxxx
