Turkey Day!
It was a Christmas morning trip to The Church of St. Michael All Angels at Little Horsted for Mum, Ri & me, & a delightful one it was too.
It was a beautiful morning & the church is a real stunner. It looked so festive & bright with all the decorations. It was a lovely service, Ri & I went up for communion, our very first, it was a packed out house & there were a few laughs too.
The vicar-ess asked 3 boys in the congression what they got from Santa, to which they each replied in turn, with perfect comedic delivery, 'an elastic band gun' (the vicar wasn't quite sure what that was), 'boxing gloves' (chuckles around the room) & finally, 'a pen knife', at which point she moved swiftly on. Unfortunately, she then moved onto a brother & sister who'd both been given tablets by Father Christmas, which caused slight puzzlement, before realising these were electronic items not things you swallow. How very joyful & cheery it was!
It's been a wonderful Christmas time & a real glittering day, lovingly stuffed to the gills with much family, fun, Prosecco, food, more Prosecco, a few of the obligatory after dinner games, the inevitable & uncontrollable laughs (largely from Mum) & of course, a drop or two more Prosecco (we had six bottles of the stuff which evidentally Mum had some obligation to endorse throughout the day. Not complaining, although my head by the end of the day might beg to differ, just saying).
A very Merry Christmas indeed. Brought to you, by Prosecco.
