X Marks the Space

A few weeks ago I blipped the almost-finished benches. Since then my attention has been diverted by other projects, but today I'm back on track.

In the previous blip there were nails acting as temporary spacers for the slats on one of the benches. I didn't have nails thick enough for spacers on this bench -- the slats are slightly narrower -- but I had these plastic spacers used for setting tiles. Unfortunately, they were too big -- this is sounding like a Goldilocks and the three bears episode -- but it wasn't very difficult to trim them to the right size with a knife.

I've been doing the really boring part today -- sanding. Some lively music helped make it more tolerable.
