Naughts and Crosses, Belts and Braces

I haven't quite reached the stage in life where trouser braces are necessary everyday wear but I'm not far off it. With last weeks storms coming thick and fast, my waterproof trousers had a lot of use. I must have pulled the waist cord too hard one day and broke it, much to the amusement of people watching me struggle home with my trousers round my knees! As I couldn't figure out how to repair them and they were quite expensive, I decided to get myself a pair of the braces made famous by Tommy Walsh from the TV programme Groundforce. Big heavy duty things they are too. They arrived today, a day late for yesterday's storm but I'm all ready for the next one :-)
