Don't you just love these stag head coat hooks? Our very own Santa's little helper, Monkey, installed himself up on high with them at Dad & Jen's. He had to be persuaded to come down this morning.

It was an earlyish rise this morn, after yesterday's shenanigans & a poor night's sleep, it was howling & lashing down all night (completely unbeknownst to Dad - like a log!) & we made for home. The rest of the fam were heading for Croydon & I was set for Newcastle, to stay with Jenny & her fam in Allendale, Northumberland.

With slight concern for the state of travel by train & the rather risky weather conditions over the past few days, we just went for it! I made pit stops in East Croydon (bye fam for a few days) London Bridge, St Pancras, Sheffield (slightly longer than I would have liked) & finally Newcastle. I was only 2 hours later than scheduled & was tucking into Daddy C's homemade turkey curry before I knew it. It never disappoints, Delish!

It's great to be up North for a final festive flurry.
