Calm before the Skiers Awake!

I went out at 6.30 a.m., I beat the skiers to photograph the calm water, just. Why are they out disturbing the lake at such an early hour I ask myself? The answer is that they need to get out early to ski on the flat water before the wind gets up.

Wanaka is simply hectic at the moment. The supermarket car park is FULL! All the parking spots along the lake front are FULL! The weather is hot and sunny. Good to be out and about, but not me, I am staying at home away from the maddening crowds. A good book sitting under the sun umbrella is what I will be doing this afternoon.
