Bumps in the Road

Hot and bothered

The wee man tossed, turned and threw up once or twice more until finally rising around 7am this morning. Sensing his belly was back to normal, we let him have a little breast milk. Bad idea. Half an hour later the milk was on the floor and the poor boy kept vomiting on and off for a couple of hours.

Softly and carefully we eased him back around with small doses of boiled water and tiny bites of toast. By lunchtime, when his Gooma arrived to lend a hand, he was still subdued but feeling much more stable.

Grandma braved the 38 degree heat and headed out to the GOMA (Gallery of Modern Art) and South Bank with AJ, Michelle, Ori and Mylan while we stayed home and nursed the wee man through his tummy bug. Although a shadow of his usual self, thankfully he managed to keep everything down.

The wee man passed out at 1:30pm. At first we thought it just an afternoon nap but when we tried to stir him around 4pm, we soon realised this was him for the night. Instead of fighting it we all retired to bed by 5pm.

There's no point fighting jet lag when the wee man is poorly. At least we'll not be too tired if we all end up waking up in the middle of the night!
