We plough the fields...

It was back to a super day again, a great sunrise over a frosty landscape. We decided to pop out for a walk and went to Monadh Mor just outside of Tore ,North of Inverness. I go past it every Friday on the way to the Puffin Pool but have never actually been there.
It is a 'wet wood, a complex area of ridges and hollows resulting from glacial deposition.' There are lovely areas of clear pools and streams but of course could be rather boggy under foot if there was nt a nice pathway built through it. There's a total of 75 hectares making it one of the largest areas of bog woodland in a single area in the UK. It provides a great area for a variety of wildlife.

Lots of conservation work is going on with the removal of non native trees leaving room for the Scots pine and birch. New trees have been planted and are growing well.

From this view point you can see across to Munlochy Bay to the right you could see The Beauly Firth and behind were views towards the snow covered Ben Wyvis.

I rather liked the plough in the foreground. It will certainly be a place we revisit.
