New pressies and new clothes

So with baby S only 7 weeks old, Christmas Day was always going to start early, 4.30am to be precise but at least he had the good grace to go back to sleep again until 7.30am. We put him in proper clothes for the first time to mark the occasion and very smart he looked to even though his jeans were a bit too big for him and his bum was hanging out at times (he's already working on his teenage boy appearance it would seem!)

We got him a blanket and a wooden toy from ikea as presents, 77 was to be seen building the toy at 8 in the morning for him whilst still in his pj's, a scene probably repeated in many households across the country.

We then went for a good walk through Dalmeny estate and then finished off the outing with a pint at the Hawes inn, with baby S sleeping peacefully on the pub bench ( he seems very content in pubs it would seem!). Then back home, oven on and 77 got to work with cooking dinner for the 2 of us while I looked after the boy and enjoyed Toy Story 3. A couple of hours later we were tucking into salmon statrters, roast beef and all the trimmings and xmas pud, while the wee man kindly slept throughout. All in all a very calm and super enjoyable first family Christmas.
