Shadow Electric
It's the bats again!
Today was the craziest day at work thanks to epic electricity issues. We kept tripping the safety switch when we turned the coffee machine on so in the end we left it off and just sold food. I'm not sure if anyone else has ever tried to operate a cafe with no coffee machine, but suffice to say we didn't get many customers. We got to pack up early so I was home by mid-afternoon.
This evening I went to the Shadow Electric, which is an open air cinema at Abbotsford Convent. It was the first time I'd made it down there, and I'm really glad I went because I had a great time. I went with Ella (and saw Charlie there too) and we had a lovely evening eating tacos and fudge and drinking cider and talking about movies. The film we saw was The Big Lebowski, which I hadn't seen but has now become one of the best movies I've ever seen. I know it's a cult classic, which is why I wanted to see it, and I totally understand why it's such a classic now. Such a great night!
As we were waiting for the movie to start the bats began their daily trip back to the botanic gardens. They were flying so low and there were so many of them so I decided to get a photo even though I see them do this all the time!
