Julia-ception
It's a photo of a photo of a photo of a photo...
After three days at work I definitely appreciated my day off today. I slept in and had a late breakfast, went to the hairdresser, and then went to help Mum get her new table up to her flat. It was a heavy table even though it was quite small - wrought iron legs! - so after all that exertion we went for a well-deserved lunch we tried two different cafes before finding somewhere where the kitchen was still open - I know tomorrow is NYE, but there's really no reason to close your kitchen at 2:00 when Brunswick street is busy and people want food! Anyway, we ended up at the classy fish & chip shop and it was really yummy.
This evening I went to the movies again, this time to the Nova with Julia to see Kill Your Darlings. Clearly everyone had had a similar idea because there was no where to park in Carlton and after driving round for about fifteen minutes we eventually parked somewhere with an exorbitant fee. Despite the frustrations of parking, we got into the cinema in time. The movie was brilliant - Daniel Radcliffe was amazing as Allen Ginsberg, but Dane DeHaan really stole the show as Lucien Carr - he was such a damaged, complex, intriguing character and I really, really believed the performance. Seriously, seriously see this film!
(I do feel like this blip is fast becoming a film blog, by the way. Oops?)
Julia stayed for dinner and Dad and I introduced her to the wonder that is Would I Lie to You?, so all in all a great evening was had.
Before we went out I took a photo of Julia on my new camera using the instant film. It was SO AWESOME watching the photo appear, and I was super pleased with the result. After dinner Julia posed with the photo of herself so that I could show it off, hence the Julia-ception situation!
