Helicopter!

There was a wildfire that started in the hills south of us this morning. I think they have it at least 65% contained now. I was about 7 miles away, as the crow flies, at a park. This helicopter flew right over us, on his way to the fire for another water drop. I got a picture of the DC10 that they use, too!

Luckily, the wind was blowing east and we didn't get any smoke. The wind was pretty strong. I can't imagine how they can get it contained at all! It was mostly in the canyons, and not too close to any homes. It would have to burn thousands of homes before it got to mine....but you sometimes wonder how far an ember can go!
