.. if you have that chocolate box view of the countryside.
Here you have the evening sun on the church door, the graveyard and a thatched cottage on the edge of the graveyard - curiously called Church Cottage. If it had been a pub then everything would have been perfect - the Church House Inn is the name of the pub in the next door village of Holne.
However rightly or wrongly one of the previous estate owners was against the evils of drink and so didn't allow a pub in the village. The family name was Bastard - several are buried in this churchyard - and I imagine the local drinkers didn't have to go far to find a name for him!
