Hidden horror
These muted colours are a relief after yesterday's blip, but the calm scene belies the fact that something in these fields, at this time of year, has a very bad effect on Jess.
We went for a walk in the water meadows behind our house this morning and on return Jess was rubbing and rubbing her mouth against the carpet, chewing her paws, and anxiously scurrying from room to room, tail between her legs - very distressed indeed.
I ended up putting her in the bath and giving her half an anti-histamine (suggested by the Vet when this happened before), as she has clearly come into contact with something she is allergic to.
An hour and a half later she is now quiet and calm again, but looking very sorry for herself.
I wonder what it is in these fields that does this to her?
