Baking Afternoon

Five cartons of cream of turkey soup for the freezer, butterfly cakes and chocolate brownies. The afternoon has sped by, enlivened by the sunshine as I looked out of the kitchen window! Just a fruit crumble to make now, and meringues later on!
Our family visitors have had to delay their arrival due to work commitments, so my husband and I will see the New Year in quietly, with a nice glass of something! Tomorrow will not be quiet, once they arrive, and as for Thursday - there will be 11 family members here for lunch! Better get back in the kitchen!
