A Great NYE
On paper, today should have been a bit rubbish as it was throwing it down, Angus was working all day and with it being New Year's Eve; I think I might have felt pretty blue in the circumstances.
But it ended up being lovely. My sister Lau and her husband spent the day with Audrey and I. We chatted, played, (half) watched the truly awful film New Year's Eve and ventured out for a walk when the weather cleared up. Bumped into Laura, Nathan and Sam at the park too.
Then had a really funny bedtime with Audrey who was in such a fun loving mood. Built a duvet mountain in the bedroom and we jumped on it and played hide and seek. Kept her up a bit later as was enjoying her company so much.
Even though Angus was working he popped home with my favourite meal Lobster Thermidor that he'd kindly asked his chef to prepare for me. I washed it down with my favourite wine (Whispering Angel, we had it on our honeymoon) whilst watching Hunger Games - which I saved after reading the book recently.
It's a bit controversial as a) I'm on my own and b) I'm staying in, but this might be one of my favourite New Year's Eve's.
Happy New Year all and may 2014 bring you everything you wish for (along with happiness and good health) x
