Doghouse
To say Angus is in the doghouse doesn't even do it justice. Have been absolutely livid with him today. His quick drink after his shift last night turned into a drunken, phone-battery dying, casino spending bender that resulted in him staggering through the door at 5am. 5am!!!!!! He'd said he'd be home at 1am!!!
I had been awake waiting for him since 2am (and I experienced a kaleidoscope of emotions in that time ranging from worry to blind fury when I couldn't reach him). For some unknown reason, as if sensing my anguish, Audrey joined me at 4am so we made use of the time and set about taking the Christmas tree down in the lounge. Neither of us seemed to be able to go back to sleep so it seemed like the logical thing to do to keep ourselves occupied!
Imagine Angus's horror as he slunk out of his taxi at 5am to find our house all lit up and a Christmas tree upturned on the pathway blocking his entrance. I swung the door open and Audrey joined me at my side with a cute "Hiya Daddy" (so much for being my partner in this, Audrey!).
I won't tell you the words that were exchanged between Angus and I but I'm I am sure you can guess!
As punishment after just four hours sleep, I let him get up with Audrey this morning while I went back to bed. Luckily for him she was in a good mood and when we'd all got up and enough sorry's had been muttered (I have thawed but not completely); we tried to get on with the day best we could.
Took this picture through the shutters in the bedroom (her new favourite hiding place).
Not my favourite ever New Year's Day which is such a pity as really enjoyed last night (pre 2am that is!)
