Porty People and Places

A Happy 2014 to one and all ....

Forget the crazy dookers. Forget the sare heed brigade crawling homewards in the bright light of a new year's dawn. Forget all those discarded bottles of bubbly abandoned on the groynes, their green glass reflecting the dying embers of last night's bonfires. Forget the echoes of the pipers and a trumpeter that herladed in the new year, Porty style, all along the promenade last night. All these, already distant memories at the turn of the year. In their place, I salute these brave souls running the four miles in the annual Porty New Year Run. A great effort by everyone who took part, organised or simply stood and cheered and blipped in equal measure!
