New Years Eve 2013

Tonight has been a bit of adventure.

Into town for a last meal of the year at friends. Was good company & good hearty food with (veggie & meat) haggis, neeps & tatties, & cranachan for desert. Top marks for the chefs. :)

After the meal & a few drinks we all headed off to various parties & the Edinburgh Street Party. K, & I had settled on a quieter new year closer to home & lucked out in getting the last bus before they stopped. We went to a local pub for a party night, but after a drink we decided to head home & bring in the new year snuggled up on the sofa :)

2013 has been a heck of a year. I struggled to recover from my broken ankle physically and emotionally. I found it challenging, frustrating and disheartening going through a job hunt whilst unemployed. And I lost my confidence both professionally and personally. K., left his job. We had to give up our city centre flat. And we faced some tough times

However, 2013 is also the year I got my first job post-graduating. I've gained so much confidence and knowledge both professionally & personally. I've ended up working in a field I never expected & am looking forward to my next career challenges. I started driving again & have gotten over most of my fears of lots of traffic & many lanes! K., and I moved out of Edinburgh into a lovely, bigger flat that will help us save for the future. K., is looking forward to starting a new career. My best friend is expecting a baby in March... Those are just a few highlights! The main thing is we got most of what we wished for at the start if the year - to be happy & healthy (for us & our family & friends) :) Best of all K., and I have gone through all these things together & with some exciting changes coming up we are looking forward to the next part of the journey!
