2014 - Home is where the heart is

Happy New Year! Wishing you all the best for 2014.

I debated about blipping this photo as initially I thought it was too boring for the first photo of a new year. However, I think it rather sums myself and my expectations of the new year up.

Homemade soup is one of favourite comfort foods and usually I just stick to making lentil or broth. Yesterday at the supermarket I picked up butternut squash on an impulse as have recently had quite a few nice butternut squash soups while out for a meal. Today I made my own version.

The moral of this story? I'm quite content with what I have, but that's not going to stop me trying new things this year :)
