Victoria Park

It was even wetter this morning so found lots to do to save going out, but after lunch it was clear if I wanted a walk I'd have to get wet. Followed the Hertford Union Canal down to the Lea Navigation, the weather was atrocious. At the Lea I was astonished to find myself at the Olympic site, didn't realise so near. All so very glamorous but also a disconnect with some leftover industrial 'undeveloped' bits which was all very surreal and disturbing, and also in distance could see the hideous consumer palaces over near Stratford station. All in pouring rain, quite weird. Came back through sodden Victoria Park, utterly soaked, and had to call it quits and head for home. Watched the latest Sherlock, it was very good wasn't it.
