the Lea navigation
Oh what a marvelous day, and blue sky, after yesterday's appalling weather. I set off as soon as I could to make the most of the day. A short cut down to the Old Ford lock on the Lea, then right down the Lea to the Limehouse cut, and the Thames, and back home along the Regent Canal. A superb walk, the Lea is fascinating, a post-industrial landscape with the Olympic park right nextdoor, a great contrast, a huge transition.
Also came across Three Mills Island with its 18th century tidal mills, and fantastic wild world play area.
Met a really nice couple doing the circuit in the opposite direction, we met again round near Roman Road. We agreed it best to make the most of the weather today and leave the museums for the weekend, when more horrible weather is due
