Rory

Meet Rory, one of our Jersey Bulls. Farmerboy named him Rory, as he is always roaring. He's such a noisy animal - whenever he see's anyone he starts roaring and follows you up and down the fence line. Just as well he is behind the barb wired fence!

You will note that Rory's face is rather dirty. He loves getting his head down low into the soil and having a great rub. Hence the messy face.

This big boy is being used to run with the cows, to inseminate any cows that didn't get pregnant by AI. This fella, and his mate, will be taken out of the herd mid to late January, when they will no longer be needed, and therefore sent to the meat works.
It's a hard life being a bull!

Another wet and cold day today, and tomorrow isn't going to be much better. I think tomorrow will be an inside day.
