First walk of the New Year

We walked a little later this morning and there were  7 of us and 5 dogs. It was still quite dark when we set off up to the St Ives Estate for the usual circuit and it looked as though it was going to be cloudy. As we reached the field the sunrise was there to greet us and we had lovely skies all the way then to Coppice Pond where the sun was reflecting onto the calm water through the trees as seen here.

Whilst feeding the ducks and geese the heron flew over and was illuminated by the sun. It was quite high and I didn't get a very good shot but it looked great.

We walked back to the village under blue skies. A very pleasant morning for my first walk of 2014.
