Life through the lens...

In Turner's footsteps.

What a difference a day makes with our British weather!

Blue sky and sun all day and a mild 10c!

Decided to go for a walk round Golden Acre Park, Leeds, but when we got there, discovered that everyone else had the same idea, and couldn't find anywhere to park!

So drove to Otley Chevin, and found the car park only half full.

Very, very muddy!!
If you look here you can see one of the paths that had turned into a small stream!

However we had a lovely walk through the woods, and out onto the crags.
The view over the valley was beautiful and clear in the winter sunlight.
Casting long shadows.

This is my favourite shot today.
Better viewed LARGE.
In the middle distance you can see Farnley Hall.
17th century stately home. Owned by Nicholas Horton-Fawkes and his family for several generations.
(Guy Fawkes was related to the family.)

J.M.W.Turner was a great friend of the family too, and stayed there many times.
He painted a view of the house from near where I took this photo.

This was a sililar shot taken with new camera ...impressive art mode.
I wonder which you prefer?
