Bandera (Cowboy Capital of the World)
Up and out the door early after a relatively late night.
For the first time we headed out of the city into Hill Coutry. It was surprisingly green and rather beautiful. I can see Jill and I ending up in this neck of the woods.
We drove just under an hour to Bandera, the cowboy capital of the world, for their end of season cowboy show. It wasn't the best thing we have seen since getting here but you can't win them all.
(If you look dead centre you will see an elderly gentleman with a n eye patch about to shoot someone with a muskat)
We then went to the 11th street cowboy bar, a notable tourist attraction and a hangout for bikers. In here the ladies are encouraged to hang their brassieres from the ceiling in exchange for a free t-shirt. By the looks of the decor the offer seems to be rather popular!
We had a light beverage, Calum took up the offer of free Louisiana style chicken and Alison got to sit on a Harley. So all in all a worthwhile trip.
We will no doubt see this place again in the future.
