My elderly next-door neighbour is currently in the Western with heart and renal failure so tonight is my night to go up and put her curlers in and have a natter.

Could I find a florist to sell me a square of cellophane - could I diddly. One crabbily told me there's had their name on it - fair enough but I'd walked for miles... I then trawled the pound stores in the hope of a bargain. Nope! Eventually got robbed of £1 for a tiny square from a card shop! Serves me right for being tight and trying to DIY in the first place.

Taking my teenage son's baby album up tonight to give her a laugh - flaming tricky to keep talking for a whole hour when nothing much has happened to one of you.
