A day in the life

Paris Poker Blog Day Trois

The sunday night / mon morning session is absolute carnage. When the croissants arrive and the dust settles, I'm back down again - a small loss, Cic has had a real hammering. Leo decided to stay in and play poker via his lap top. When we get back to Leo's for about 7am, he's still playing online and "about even" when people say this, it means they are losing. so to sum up, I'm down, Cic is down, Leo is...down. Not quite as planned.

To make matters worse for him, Cic is going to work in a few hours, whereas my flight only leaves at night, so I'm having a long lie in and playing poker again in the afternoon,
So I'm the only one with a chance to turn a profit. The mon afternoon session was successful for me the last time so fingers crossed....

STICKY CHIPS
Go to any normal poker room anywhere and you'll find everyone doing various chip shuffling tricks out of habit, or for show. The chips in this Casino are sticky, and kind of stick together abit so its not really possible to shuffle them properly they're basically dirty....there is some sort of health scare going round Paris, and everywhere you go there are these hand cleaner gel things so you can clean your hands without water.
I seen a guy come out of the toilet cubicle in the Gents, didn't wash his hands and headed for the tables. Unbelievable, quite disgusting, and totally inexcusable. Sacre bleue!
I stopped handling the chips much after that!!

Over the piece I went up, then I went down, then I went back into plus, then I went back down..abit, after about 4 hours of poker in the afternoon and another rollercoaster session ended...a bit down again.

I'm absolutely shattered, don't remember being this broken before, I must be getting old, didn't quite manage to scoop the Parisian gold I would have liked, but then I suppose theres always next time!

BTW
Photo is the roof of CDG waiting room, waitings for the orange plane to fly me back home. Got on the plane, didn't even last the safety anounement. Woke up once we landed back in Edinburgh. Perfect weekend - almost.
