DDW Challenge January 2014 : scratchy

This is the most scratchy plant in my garden. I hate pruning it because even when I wear gloves it still scratches and hurts me.

It is a really old wild rose. We think it stood in the grounds of the big house that was here before our terrace of houses was built. That would probably date back about a hundred years... (we have the particulars of the previous house with a description and layout plan of the garden)

We cut it right back every year and even when we think we might have killed it.... it still comes back.

Despite it being very scratchy, I still like it.
