Aphelion Perihelion Comparison

Today was Perihelion, the point on the Earth's orbit where it is closest to the Sun. It was at it's most distant on July 5th 2013. There is some variation in the actual distances but roughly speaking 91 million miles at Perihelion, and 94.5 million miles at Aphelion. I have overlaid the two images that I made at Aphelion and on Jan 3rd (There was no Sun today!). Both images were taken with the same focal length lens setting, although atmospherics and altitude of the Sun will have some minor impact on image size.
The Sun appears about 3% larger at Perihelion.
