Nuked

Miserable weather all today. Drive out with my IAM Associate this morning, various indoor jobs this afternoon. Disinclined to venture even to Waitrose to get food for tonight so downloaded some online from Just Eat (which M introduced us to).

Dan & Debbie joined us for Indian and Games but we'd just got into a game of Powergrid (using a new map I'd got for Christmas) when the phone rang and they had to set off urgently in aid of Debbie's Mum. All was reported well later.

We continued, adapting for their absence. It's a game where you try to manage power stations (from wind, through incinerators to nuclear) and a network of customers, trading off costs of consumables and of expanding your network with income from being able to power a larger network of customers. All very intensive.

A close game, narrowly won by Cupcake. My (unusually) eco-friendly set of hydro-, wind- and incinerator-fueled generators just didn't quite power enough houses.
