Non parlo Italiano

I can understand a little Italian, having studied Latin, but would like to be able to speak a little too. Intended to learn a little before I went with the ladies to Venice last year, but as is my usual fashion, I didn't get round to it!

Going to Venice again this year. So, armed with an app on my kindle, I am now trying to learn a few phrases - think I'll stick to the basic vocabulary. All this different pronunciation for "c", "ch", "cc" etc will probably defeat me!
